ABOUT THE BRANCH
The Strategic Procurement Branch (SPB) is responsible for the procurement, refresh, and retender of non-ICT Whole of Australian Government (WoAG) coordinated procurement arrangements. These arrangements are established for commonly used goods or services by the Commonwealth. SPB also undertakes procurement processes for WoAG arrangements managed by other finance areas. The branch collaborates with government agencies and industry to deliver competitive, fit-for-purpose, and value-for-money procurement outcomes for the Commonwealth. Support is provided to other operational improvement projects within SPB.
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking high-performing and enthusiastic procurement officers with demonstrated commercial and procurement experience to join our team. This role offers opportunities to:

o Engage with a wide range of APS-wide stakeholders.
Reporting to your Assistant Director, as a Procurement Officer/Senior Procurement Officer, you will be responsible for:
o Developing effective project management processes for strategic whole-of-Australian-government tendering and contracting;
o Preparing tender, evaluation, and contract transition documentation;
o Assisting with managing consultants, such as probity and legal advisers;
o Working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies and industry;
o Coordinating project deliverables while managing conflicting priorities;
o Identifying and implementing operational improvements within the branch; and
o Developing high-level briefing materials for senior executives, the Finance Minister, and government.
