About the role

We're looking for a hands‐on Snowflake Analytics Engineer to uplift a marketing analytics platform and deliver a clean, scalable foundation for reporting in Tableau (and other BI tools). This is a build‐and‐optimise engagement: you'll work natively in Snowflake to ingest marketing data, model it properly, and deliver a consumption‐ready semantic layer that performs at scale.

This is a great contract for someone who enjoys owning the pipeline‐to‐dashboard journey end‐to‐end, from ELT patterns and cost optimisation through to dimensional modelling and BI readiness.

What you'll be doing

Snowflake ELT & optimisation

* Build and enhance native ELT pipelines in Snowflake using Streams, Tasks, and Dynamic Tables
* Write and tune advanced SQL (CTEs, window functions, performant joins)
* Use Query Profile and best‐practice patterns to minimise credit burn and improve runtime performance
* Ingest and transform semi‐structured JSON from marketing APIs (e.g. GA4, Google Ads, Meta Ads, etc.) using VARIANT, flattening and standardising into analytics‐friendly structures

Architecture & modelling (Medallion dimensional)

* Implement a robust medallion architecture, with strong ownership of:
* Silver layer (conformed, cleaned, standardised)
* Gold layer (curated, analytics/BI‐ready)
* Design and build star schema models with clear Fact & Dimension tables for fast, accurate BI performance
* Maintain strict control of data grain to prevent common BI issues (especially double‐counting)

BI marketing analytics enablement

* Build a Snowflake semantic layer that maps cleanly to Tableau data source requirements
* Partner with stakeholders to ensure models support real‐world marketing questions (performance, funnel, attribution, cohorts)
* Apply practical understanding of:
* Attribution models (first‐touch / last‐touch and related concepts)
* Identity resolution (linking cookies/device identifiers to customers where appropriate)

Skills & experience (must‐have)

* Strong recent experience with Snowflake (Streams, Tasks, Dynamic Tables)
* Expert‐level SQL and performance optimisation (including Snowflake Query Profile)
* Proven delivery of dimensional modelling (star schemas, fact/dim, conformed dimensions)
* Hands‐on experience working with semi‐structured data (VARIANT, JSON flattening)
* Confidence designing data products for BI consumption (ideally Tableau)

Nice to have

* Experience building or supporting a semantic layer approach for Tableau / BI
* Familiarity with marketing platforms and data concepts (GA4, Ads platforms, UTM structures)
* Exposure to identity stitching / customer matching approaches (within privacy constraints)
