No. 38622Copper Refineries are currently advertising a Reliability Engineer vacancy that exists in the Maintenance Department.
This role will see you become an integral part of Refinery Processing Team.
This role is residentially based in Townsville, working a 5/2 roster.Townsville OperationsLocated on the coast in tropical North Queensland, Glencore's Townsville Operations encompass Copper Refineries Pty Ltd and Glencore Port Operations.Our Townsville Operations mark the final link in Glencore's fully integrated north Queensland supply chain, connecting the natural resources we produce with markets around the world.Copper Refineries Pty Ltd is one the world's leading electrolytic copper refineries, capable of producing 300,000 tonnes per year of premium-quality ISA brand LME Grade A copper cathode using Glencore's proprietary IsaKIDD refining process.

The RoleWe currently have a vacancy for a Reliability Engineer to work within our Maintenance Department at the Copper Refineries.
This is a residential role, based in Townsville, reporting directly to the Superintendent Refinery Maintenance.
The roster worked for this position is day shift, Monday to Friday.In this role you will provide reliability technical expertise, including managing our condition monitoring program, investigating and executing process and reliability improvements.
Your daily requirements will include analysis of plant operation and reliability, working with the Maintenance and Operations teams for machine optimisation, engaging external contractors and suppliers, and assisting with forward planning of maintenance and operation strategies.
You will be driven to achieve your targets in the safest and most cost-effective manner.The successful candidate will be responsible for:Coordination and completion of Vibration Analysis, Oil analysis, thermography, UT and other Condition Monitoring TechniquesManages contractors for 3rd party crane, pressure equipment and other statutory inspectionsConduct root cause analysis on equipment failuresProvide timely reports and expert advice to key stakeholders on suitable courses of action and monitoring implementation plansDevelop diagnostic tools to predict equipment failures and minimize the impact on productionProviding technical support to the Maintenance and Operational TeamsProvide specialist support to the maintenance team and lead improvements on lubrication systemsEnsure hazards within the maintenance workplace and the processing plants are identified and addressedRaise notifications for any corrective work or inspection in the CMMS (SAP)Coordinate support for QA/QC checks for critical equipmentLead improvements condition monitoring across the Copper Refineries.You will have the following skillset and attributes:Minimum of 5 years' experience in mining, heavy industries, or petro-chemical plantsBachelor of Engineering - Mechanical or Electrical preferred or tertiary education in Asset Management / ReliabilityPrevious experience in Condition Monitoring and lubricationGood communication skills with the ability to work in a team environmentC Class Driver's LicenseMinimum VCAT1 certification (preferable)Previous use of safety and risk assessment tools such as Job Hazard Analysis and Take 5's etcProject Management experience will be high regarded, specifically in managing budgets and schedules;Experience with engaging and presenting to internal stakeholders as well as managing outside contractors;Working within a team environment, however demonstrate the ability to work autonomously; andA strong safety culture and work ethic are fundamental to your success in the role.For further information, please contact: Darren Nyen on (07) 4781 8254Applications Close: 8.00am, Monday 15th September 2025
