HOBAN are sourcing an experienced Fraud Investigator to join our client, who is a federal government agency.
The Fraud Intelligence and Investigations Branch detects and responds to internal and external payment fraud against the Scheme. The key function of the Fraud Investigation team is to prevent, deter, detect, and respond to acts of fraud committed against the Agency.
- Located in Brisbane, Queensland
- $53 per hour excluding superannuation
- 12-month contract, possibility of an extension, pending business requirements.
**About the role**
- Supporting the planning and production of financial intelligence outputs and outcomes.
- Collecting financial and other information and undertaking a range of analytical tools to assist in producing tactical financial intelligence reports.
- Working closely with management, operational teams, and external partner agencies to ensure that intelligence outputs are supporting the strategic and operational needs of the Agency.
- Contributing to the development of business rules, refinements and suggested avenues of analysis and investigation.
- Identifying emerging intelligence risks and evolving methodologies.
- Conducting formal and informal discussions with staff, customers and third parties to obtain required information.
- Providing ongoing intelligence support for matters referred for investigation.
- Providing administrative support to the team and supporting complex projects.
**About you**
- Must be an **Australian Citizen**:
- Previous experience in Fraud investigations is highly desirable
- Ability to work within a team environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as you will liaise with multiple internal and external stakeholders at various levels
- Possess a Cert IV in Government (Investigations) or the ability to gain the qualification and/or relevant experience
- Must be able to maintain and obtain a security clearance at "Negative Vetting Level 1"
