The Client: Spider Communications Pty Ltd is an Australian provider of advanced telecommunications solutions, specialising in offering innovative and reliable telecommunications services. They now seek a skilled and qualified NBN Technician to join their team in Ferntree Gully in VIC on a full time basis. The Role: This is for a full time position with an annual salary between $77,000 to $80,000 depending on experience plus superannuation. The role will be based in Ferntree Gully in VIC. The Responsibilities: Planning and Designing of Telecom devices, network structures on HFC. Read and interpret HFC telecommunication blueprints Providing technical support with network troubleshooting and finding the best temporary and permanent in-field solutions. Some onsite field work may be required to install hardware. Implement structured cabling installations to support data and voice communication. Data points are generally required where there is a separation of the NBN NTD & RSP Gateway. The ability to identify, locate and intercept Lead Inn & Network Conduit blockages Liaising with high level stakeholders, vendors and suppliers. Maintaining, repairing and diagnosing malfunctions of telemetry devices. Field automation and telecommunications network infrastructure installation Investigate and analyse telecommunications network architecture to provide strategic recommendations and develop policies for enhancing the organisation's network structure Install Hybrid Fiber-Coaxial (HFC) cables for broadband services, involving running cables through buildings, ceilings, walls, and conduits to establish network connections. This also required on other technologies especially for Fibre were it cutting over from the FTTN & FTTC Network. Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, policies, and procedures in the provision of NBN & Delivery Partner recommendations. Monitor NBN active network via the UNA Diagnostic App, this will provide active live network services across the country and can be broken down to suburb and street level. This tool is handy to use at will demonstrate on how the network is behaving and will also outline outages Establish and refine telecommunications network design standards to ensure alignment with business objectives and security protocols Conduct job description analyses by referring to the NBN atlas map to understand the network. Develop scalable telecommunications network solutions that meet security, performance, and reliability requirements Assess telecommunications network infrastructure to ensure efficient performance and optimal system stability Identify and implement enhancements to telecommunications network hardware, software, communication protocols, and system configurations Oversee the configuration and deployment of telecommunications network environments to ensure stability, security, and operational readiness Maintain clear records of system faults, solutions applied, and telecommunications network adjustments to ensure accurate documentation Identify potential performance issues and recommend effective measures for improved system reliability The Requirements: Minimum Advanced Diploma Qualified Minimum 1 years full time post qualification experience as a Telecommunications Network Planner At least 1 years experience in fibre optic network planning including route selection, splice planning and optical power budgeting Minimum 1 years experience conducting RF planning, coverage modelling and spectrum analysis for wireless deployments At least 1 years experience using GIS platforms, AutoCAD, RF planning tools or equivalent network design software At least 1 years experience ensuring compliance with ACMA regulations and carrier grade technical standards Minimum 1 years experience preparing structured technical documentation, feasibility studies and cost modelling for telecommunications infrastructure projects Minimum 1 years experience with VLANs, subnetting, and routing protocols like OSPF and BGP Hands-on experience with network performance tuning and optimisation Knowledge of network security principles and best practices Competence in supporting VoIP infrastructure and Quality of Service (QoS) configurations
