The key duties of the position include The Role As an APS 5 Intelligence Assessment Analyst within Defence's Integrity Division, you will be providing intelligence support to investigations regarding fraud and corruption within the Department. You will be providing support to the various investigation bodies within Defence and will on occasion work with external agencies. You will work in a team of Intelligence Assessment Analysts working collaboratively with each other and Investigators to produce intelligence products that can range from intelligence assessments, insights, entity profiles, relationship charts or any other product that will serve our customer's needs. About our Team The Data Analytics, Intelligence and Recoveries (DAIR) Directorate within the Defence Integrity Division performs a range of analytical and intelligence tasks to support fraud and corruption control within Defence. The team supports active fraud and corruption investigations with intelligence products and assessments. We contribute to fraud detection and monitoring by deploying data-driven detection activities. Our work is guided by the Fraud and Corruption Control Plan 2024 - 2026, and by emerging trends in the fraud and corruption landscape. The Directorate works closely with internal investigators and external enforcement agencies to maximise the impact to fraud and corruption against Defence and the Commonwealth more broadly. Our Ideal Candidate We are looking for an individual who thrives in a fast paced environment, is inquisitive, open minded and enjoys working collaboratively with other stakeholders. Our ideal candidate will demonstrate strong skills and experience in: Prepare, contribute to and deliver briefs, intelligence assessments related to Defence's fraud and corruption environment. Understand and utilise analytical tools and techniques to develop intelligence assessments. Apply knowledge to undertake research and analysis on Defence and security-related developments of strategic interest to Australia. Work collaboratively with customers and stakeholders to deliver tailored intelligence assessments. Evaluate a wide range of information and intelligence sources to inform intelligence assessment products, identify issues and provide recommendations and advice to management and appropriate stakeholders. Build and sustain effective relationships with team members and actively participate in teamwork and organisational activities. Prioritise workload and monitor task progress against performance expectations to ensure deadlines are met. Responsible for compliance with legislative, policy and regulatory frameworks including information management requirements.
