THE ROLE:
We currently require casual Support Workers with experience in Complex Mental Health & Disability Support Workers available for Supported Independent Living & Community clients based in Morayfield and surrounding areas.
This role will involve:
* Building and maintaining trusting and meaningful working relationships with our clients, their circle of support and the community.
* Assisting in developing, implementing, and evaluating plans that enable our clients to set and achieve personal goals.
* Facilitating community inclusion and participation and supporting our clients to establish and maintain relationships and interests through access to community activities, venues, and services.
* Encouraging positive and socially appropriate behaviour, and effectively manage challenging behaviours.
* Providing personal care where required and personalised support in accordance with the personal plan.
ABOUT YOU:
You will have a passion for working with people with disabilities with an understanding and commitment to a person-centered model of practice.
Previous experience in and knowledge of the disability services industry and an ability to work flexible hours, with a willingness to work a variety of shifts, with a variety of clients is a must.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
* Cert III Disability (or working towards), or experience in Disability Support.
* NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate. (Or willing to obtain)
* Experience with Manual Handling.
* Reliable transportation for Community Access & Participation.
* Current Senior First Aid Certificate and CPR Certificate.
* Queensland Provisional or above Driver’s Licence.
* Current Paid Working with Children Check (Blue Card). (Or willing to obtain)
* Current Paid NDIS Workers Screening Card (Yellow Card). (Or willing to obtain)
