* We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic building surveyor to join our Hobart team to assist our clients in achieving safe and compliant buildings.
* The successful candidate will have the opportunity to:
o Support our existing client base through sound technical knowledge and professionalism.
o Develop your own client base within the organization and with the support of your peers.
o Assist in developing and supporting the ongoing growth of the Hobart Office.
o Carry out regulatory assessments on all types of commercial projects as required, and some residential projects.
o Conduct early phase compliance assessments and reporting through concept/schematic/design development.
o Assess project documentation against the deemed-to-satisfy and performance requirements of the Building Code of Australia, Act and Regulations.
o Facilitate the preparation of Certificate of Likely Compliance, Occupancy Permits, Certificates and documentation.
o Manage multiple projects from beginning to end delegating responsibilities as required.
o Lead by example and assist in the development of staff, through growth, education and support.
o Liaise with relevant stakeholders and provide technical assistance to our clients.
o Identify improvements, efficiencies and implement action plans in collaboration with other staff members to promote the business.
o Assist other staff members with building surveying and business development matters.
o Attend site inspections and design meetings as required.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Requirements include:
* Licensed as Building Surveyor Unlimited (applicants without this must demonstrate ability to become licensed or obtain Mutual Recognition).
* 10+ years experience in a similar role is preferred, however we will consider all levels of experience.
* Degree or Post Graduate qualification in Building Surveying.
* Sound knowledge of current Building Act, Regulations and Building Code of Australia.
* Be well informed with Building Surveyors Code of Practice in Tasmania.
* Able to develop new business.
* Demonstrated time management and organisation skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
* Strong writing skills and ability to communicate with people at all levels.
* High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
* Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
* Computer literate.
* Current Driver's license.
