About the Role Our Government client is seeking an experienced Workplace Project Manager to lead the delivery of Workplace projects from initiation through to completion, ensuring outcomes are delivered on time, within scope and budget. Key responsibilities include project planning and scheduling, risk and change management, budgeting and financial tracking, stakeholder engagement and reporting. The role also involves resource coordination, team leadership and effective communication across stakeholders. Post-project, the Project Manager will support review and process improvement to enhance future delivery. Essential Skills, Experience & Qualifications 5 years’ demonstrated industry experience. Demonstrated experience delivering workplace, accommodation, property, or facilities projects through all phases (initiation, planning, delivery, and close‑out), with budgets typically in excess of $1M. Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently in a complex organisational environment. Strong capability in managing project budgets, schedules, risks, issues, and dependencies to achieve agreed outcomes. Demonstrated experience administering contracts, managing variations, and controlling contingencies in line with approved business cases. Demonstrated experience engaging and influencing a broad range of stakeholders, including senior leaders, business users, contractors, and consultants. Ability to balance operational needs, user experience, and delivery constraints. Sound understanding of project governance frameworks, delegations, and approval processes, ideally within a public sector or large regulated organisation. Experience preparing executive papers, recommendations, and briefing material for senior decision‑makers. Experience working with commercial construction or fit‑out contracts, consultants, and suppliers, ensuring compliance with procurement and contract administration requirements. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex information clearly to senior executives. Experience providing accurate, timely reporting on cost, programme, risks, and issues. Tertiary qualification in Project Management, Construction Management, Property, Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline. Construction induction card (required). Desirable Skills & Experience Experience delivering projects within NSW Government, a utility, or a similarly complex asset‑intensive organisation. Experience delivering workplace accommodation projects aligned to activity‑based working, hybrid work, or organisational change initiatives. Project management qualification and/or certification. Understanding of property portfolios, asset lifecycle management, and facilities operations in an occupied environment. Experience integrating workplace technology solutions, such as AV systems, access control, or smart building elements, into property projects. Strong experience leading multidisciplinary consultant teams and managing contractor performance on live operational sites. Experience with SAP (Project Management, Procurement and Contract systems) is highly regarded. Proficient in project scheduling tools (e.g. Microsoft Project, Primavera).
