Our client, Food Security, is seeking a dedicated Pig Farmer to manage, oversee, and execute farming activities focused on breeding and raising pigs for meat production. The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise in artificial insemination, animal care, and livestock management, collaborating closely with veterinarians, animal nutritionists, and feed representatives to ensure the health and productivity of the herd. About the Company Our client, Food Security International PTY operates a regional Berkshire stud and semi-intensive farrow-to-finish piggery with sows. They are committed to high standards of animal welfare, production efficiency, and sustainable farming practices. Location: Beverly, WA Salary: AUD $80,000 - $85,000 per annum Key Responsibilities: Breeding and raising pigs using artificial insemination, natural mating, and other related techniques. Feeding pigs and ensuring proper hydration and care. Monitoring animal health, administering medication, and assisting during challenging births. Maintaining farm facilities, including fences, equipment, and water systems, ensuring proper ventilation and temperature. Managing waste and transporting livestock as required. Recording and organizing data related to mating and dry sow management. Coordinating the buying, selling, and transportation of livestock. Qualifications & Requirements: Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field. Minimum 5 years of experience in pig farming. Proven experience complying with welfare standards and quality assurance requirements. Ability to manage the farrowing house independently. Current driver's licence. Willingness to work on weekends.
