About The Role
We are seeking an individual who is highly motivated to become part of a passionate and engaged team.
Responsibilities
* Routine receipting and processing of specimens, including operation and maintenance of analysers
* Pre and post analytical specimen handling
* Identification and prioritisation of urgent specimens
* Filing and storage of specimens and data entry
* Assisting scientists in the lab as required
* Continuous learning of processing requirements for different types of samples and tests
* Staying up to date with processing updates
* Responding to result sample requirements and general queries
* Identifying and resolving problems at the pre‑analytic stage
Qualifications
* Specimen processing and data entry experience
* Excellent customer service and communication skills
* Ability to manage and thrive in a busy environment
* Ability to work with minimal supervision and as part of a team
* Understanding the importance of following procedures accurately
* Willingness to adhere to departmental and organisational policies and procedures
* Previous laboratory experience and exposure to medical terminology desirable but not essential
* Certificate III in Laboratory Techniques or Pathology Collection desirable
