In this role, you'll:
* Be part of the Development Services team for the West Region, focusing on understanding regional community needs across NSW and delivering customer-centered transport services and infrastructure.
* Coordinate and prepare TfNSW responses to planning authorities and private developers regarding land use planning and development proposals, complying with legislation, policies, and guidelines.
* Manage a geographic portfolio covering western NSW, including areas from Moree Shire to Broken Hill, Central West Orana, the Blue Mountains, and the Unincorporated Area.

Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential. You will need to build rapport and develop stakeholder relationships across internal and external sources, leveraging these to inform decisions, negotiate, and overcome challenges.
Critical thinking is vital. You should be able to review development applications, traffic analyses, and assess transport impacts under time constraints, requiring high-level problem-solving and creativity. The role is suited for experienced Traffic/Development Engineers familiar with development assessment, urban and regional planning, traffic engineering, modelling, and transport planning in NSW. Candidates from other relevant backgrounds will also be considered.
The team is based in Parkes, with offices across the West Region of NSW. We encourage regional applicants and offer flexible working arrangements.
