About This Role
Construction Engineer role on a 14/14 BIBO roster from Brisbane, delivering safe and efficient civil construction projects across a wide operational area. You'll lead contractor performance, uphold quality standards, and ensure projects are executed to schedule while driving a strong safety culture and maintaining compliance with all civil and HSSE requirements.
Lead safe and efficient delivery of civil construction activities across multiple sites
Plan, coordinate, and monitor civil works to meet schedule, budget, and quality expectations
Provide technical guidance on civil design, construction methods, and material selection
Oversee contractor performance and ensure compliance with safety, quality, and project standards
Support development of construction schedules and ensure smooth field execution
Conduct site inspections to verify progress, quality, and adherence to standards
Maintain accurate project documentation, reporting, and progress tracking
Identify risks early and implement effective mitigation strategies
Contribute to tendering, contract preparation, and evaluation processes
Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to align construction activities with operational needs
Drive continuous improvement in construction practices, efficiency, and cost control
Requirements
Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
Proven experience delivering civil construction projects in field‑based environments
Strong understanding of construction standards, quality requirements, and industry best practices
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
Demonstrated capability in contractor supervision and performance management
Solid knowledge of civil construction methods, materials, and equipment
Strong commitment to safety and ability to lead safe work practices on site
Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Ability to work autonomously across multiple sites and manage competing priorities
Competence in project planning, scheduling, and progress tracking
Strong problem‑solving skills with a proactive, solutions‑focused approach
Ability to identify risks and support mitigation planning
