Marketing and Communications Specialist
Temporary contract - 2 months +
Melbourne
$90-$100k FTE
A leading membership association in the environmental sector is transitioning to a new website and needs an experienced communications and marketing contractor to support the project.
You'll take the lead on consolidating content from the current site into a new platform; refining the structure, improving UX, selecting images, and rewriting copy so it's clear, consistent, and member-friendly. You may also provide direction to a graphic designer where needed.
Alongside the website work, you'll keep core communications running by drafting a weekly industry-news newsletter and assisting with occasional marketing or corporate comms.
The assignment focuses on three key areas:
Website Project – UX, Structure & Content
Take the lead on consolidating content from the current website into a new platform. This includes shaping the site structure, refining navigation, selecting images, and rewriting or polishing copy so it's clear, engaging, and user-friendly. You'll work closely with internal stakeholders and may direct a graphic designer where needed to ensure the new site looks modern, intuitive, and consistent.
Content & Copywriting
Review and improve existing marketing and corporate communications, particularly website content, to make sure everything is accurate, accessible, and aligned with the organisation's tone of voice. Experience turning technical or specialist information into plain English is a bonus.
Weekly Newsletter
Draft the organisation's weekly industry-news email, pulling together relevant articles and summarising updates for their membership audience. A steady hand, strong editing skills, and reliability are key.
What they're hoping for
* Solid experience in communications and/or marketing, especially website content development.
* Confidence working on UX-friendly content structure and site organisation.

* Someone who can work independently, hit deadlines, and keep things moving.
This assignment suits someone who enjoys purposeful project work, tidy structure, and helping an organisation elevate its digital presence.
