About This Position
The Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Specialist will be responsible for ensuring high standards of health, safety and environmental management across all projects. They will work closely with project teams to promote a culture of excellence and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Safety Management: Develop, implement and maintain the Integrated Management System (IMS), including procedures, forms, registers and records.
* Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Conduct regular site inspections, audits and toolbox talks to monitor compliance with safety standards and prepare and review Project Risk Assessments (PRA), Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) and Risk Assessment Worksheets (RAW).
* Incident Resolution: Support the resolution of Work Health and Safety (WHS) issues by consulting with project teams and workers.
* Audit and Review: Coordinate and participate in internal audits and reviews of management system implementation, reporting on compliance.
* Industry Knowledge: Stay updated with industry-related events and legislative changes to ensure continuous improvement in safety practices.
Requirements:
* Experience: Minimum 3 years experience in HSE roles, preferably in construction or infrastructure.
* Knowledge: Strong understanding of WHS legislation, construction safety standards and risk management frameworks.
* Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
* Approach: A proactive approach to identifying hazards and implementing effective risk mitigation strategies.
