Human Resources & People Experience Team Leader
Location: Yorke Peninsula, South Australia
Employment Type: Permanent Full-Time
Salary: $99,000 - $103,000 + Super + Income protection
Relocation package considered for the right candidate

Halcyon Knights is proud to be partnering with Yorke Peninsula Council to recruit a Team Leader - HR & People Experience on a permanent full-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR professional to step into a leadership role within a progressive regional council, while enjoying the lifestyle benefits of coastal living.

About the Role

Reporting to the Manager People, Culture and Safety, the Team Leader - HR & People Experience is responsible for supporting the delivery of effective human resource services across Council. The role leads day-to-day HR operations and supervises payroll and clerical staff, ensuring services are delivered in line with legislative requirements, policies, and best practice. The position works closely with the Corporate Management Team, Leadership Alliance Team, and staff across the organisation to provide high-quality HR advice, strengthen workplace culture, and support organisational objectives.

Key Responsibilities
* Provide HR and industrial relations advice, including interpretation of Awards, Enterprise Agreements, and legislation
* Support managers with employee relations matters, including performance management, grievances, and dispute resolution
* Coordinate recruitment, onboarding, and probation processes
* Oversee payroll support and HR systems (HRIS) management
* Lead performance development processes across Council
* Contribute to the development and review of HR policies, procedures, and practices
* Supervise and support a small team, including Payroll and Clerical staff
* Provide reporting, insights, and workforce data to support decision-making
About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring a strong foundation in human resources along with demonstrated leadership capability.

Key requirements include:
* Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or a related discipline, and/or significant relevant experience
* Demonstrated experience in a HR generalist role
* Strong knowledge of employment legislation, Awards, and Enterprise Agreements
* Experience supervising or leading small teams
* Highly developed interpersonal and communication skillsStrong problem-solving, organisational, and stakeholder management capabilities
* Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgement
