About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Therapeutic Residential Care Practitioner to join our team. As a key member of our care team, you will play a vital role in providing a safe, nurturing, and empowering home for children and young people with complex needs.
This is a dynamic and rewarding role that requires resilience, patience, and the ability to respond calmly and professionally to challenging behaviors. You will provide hands-on therapeutic support, helping children and young people navigate difficult emotions, build healthy relationships, and develop skills to thrive in life.
Your role will involve active participation in team care planning, supervision, reflective practice, and ongoing professional development. This includes training in trauma-informed care, such as TCI 7, to ensure the best possible outcomes for our clients.
You will also contribute to maintaining a comfortable, safe, and well-organised home environment, from meal planning and preparation to household upkeep, while facilitating opportunities for learning, recreation, and community engagement.

Your Credentials
* A minimum of a Certificate IV in Child, Youth & Family Intervention or other similar/relevant tertiary qualification.
* Completion of, or willingness to complete, the following mandatory units of competency:

o CHCMHS007 – Work effectively in trauma informed care
o CHCPRT009 – Provide primary residential care
o CHCCCS009 – Facilitate responsible behaviour
o CHCPRT010 – Work with children and young people with complex trauma and attachment issues and needs
* A Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI 7) certification or willingness to upgrade to TCI 7 if a lower-level TCI certification is currently held.
* A current Drivers Licence.
This role may include shift work across a 24/7 roster and may include sleepover shifts.
