Council's Statutory Planning Branch is looking for passionate planners to join our team in tropical north Victoria. The salary and banding of positions will depend on the applicant's skills and experience.
* Town Planner (Band 5) | Senior Town Planner (Band 6) | Principal Statutory Planner (Band 7)
* Part Time or Full Time Employment – hours may be negotiated.
* Flexible working arrangements are available and as part of the package, Council will also provide relocation assistance to help support a move to the region.
About the Opportunities
As a member of our Statutory Planning Branch, you'll provide expert advice and assess development applications in accordance with the Mildura Planning Scheme, the Subdivision Act, and the Planning and Environment Act.
We have opportunities available for various levels of experience. You may be ready to step into the role of Principal Statutory Planner (Team Leader), where you'll lead a small team, coordinate complex assessments, drive high-quality planning outcomes, mentor staff, and engage closely with stakeholders across the organisation and community.
Alternatively, you might be suited to a Senior Planner role, leading more complex applications and providing guidance and support to your colleagues. Or perhaps you're an early-career planner, looking to develop your skills in a supportive, collaborative, and growth-focused environment.
With Mildura Rural City Council, you'll also work alongside our Strategic Planning Branch, with the chance to contribute to broader planning projects—tailored to your experience level, whether you're building your capabilities or bringing seasoned expertise.
What you will bring
Ideally the successful applicant will have the following:
* A degree or diploma in Town and Regional Planning or equivalent recognised qualification with varying degrees of experience in town planning (either local government or consulting) or similar experience in a related field.
* Hold a current satisfactory Police Check or willing to obtain one prior to employment.
Salary and Conditions
The positions are classified across Bands 5 to 7 of Council's Current Enterprise Agreement ranging from $ 77,725 to $117,480 per annum plus statutory superannuation.
