The Role
We are seeking a capable Sales Engineer to help lead our efforts in the Canberra market. As a subject matter expert, you will provide pre-sales support for the federal government and defense market in Australia, working closely with Account Executives to take innovative security and analytics solutions to market. You will have a proven track record of successfully collaborating with customers to implement large-scale cyber security solutions, and a passion for helping them solve difficult problems. Your expertise will be essential in demonstrating the business value of our on-prem and cloud security products through successful pilot efforts and technical evaluations.
Your Responsibilities
You will work directly with prospective customers to position our security solutions for success, manage the technical sales process from initial solution discovery through proof-of-concept delivery and proposal development, and present the technical merits of our offerings through compelling product demos and pilots. You will also provide technical support to our sales teams, creating high-quality presentations and responding to requests for information, and attend events and conferences to support our GTM activities.
Techincal Knowledge
You will possess excellent knowledge of security solutions and technologies, including Internet security, anti-malware technologies, proxy technologies, Windows, Linux, SIEM, information security, networking, and scripting. You will have experience working in virtualized, networked environments, specifically VMWare and Hyper-V based systems, and practical information security experience to support our technical sales effort. You will also have an advanced understanding of enterprise networking, including SaaS and Cloud solutions such as AWS and Microsoft Azure.
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for a strong candidate with experience in a sales engineering/pre-sales role supporting critical security solutions. You must be eligible for security clearance, ideally already cleared to at least NV1. You will be able to work as part of a sales team to formulate account strategies, build strong relationships throughout the sales cycle with customer technical staff, and articulate product positioning and competitive differentiation to both business and technical users. Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills are essential, as well as a deep knowledge of sales cycle and pre-sales activities. You will be a self-starter, proactive leader willing to display initiative with common sense, results-driven, and committed to outcomes rather than output. You will be able to develop empathy and rapport internally with staff and with customers and partners, and demonstrate a strong work ethic and commitment to quality.
