About the Opportunity
The Central Sterilising Department is seeking a highly skilled Instrument Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleaning, disinfecting, inspecting, packing, sterilization and storage of all reusable medical instruments.
* This is a casual position, working on a 7-day roster covering morning, afternoon and night shifts.
* You will primarily be responsible for maintaining the working environment and associated medical equipment, adhering to standard precautions and implementing guidelines as stated in AS standards.
What You'll Bring
* A Certificate 3 or 4 in Health - Sterilising Practice for Technicians or equivalent qualification is essential.
* You should have a sound understanding of recommended guidelines and standards, applying basic principles of standard precautions, disinfection and sterilisation.
* Clinical practice and experience in all areas of cleaning, disinfecting and sterilisation within a hospital CSD is essential.
* Knowledge and experience in reprocessing of flexible endoscopes is highly desirable.
