Are you a hands-on problem solver with strong technical skills? We’re looking for a Maintenance Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair manufacturing equipment, ensuring optimal performance, safety, and reliability in a fast-paced production environment.
About the Role
- Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on machinery and equipment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
- Assist with fabrication, welding, and machining tasks as required.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime and enhance efficiency.
- Work collaboratively with production and engineering teams to meet operational goals.
Essential Qualifications
- Certificate III or IV in Engineering (Maintenance Fitting, Mechanical, or Industrial Maintenance).
- Equivalent trade qualifications (Boiler making, Toolmaking, etc.).
- Forklift Licence – required.
- Elevated Work Platform (EWP) Licence – required.
- Lock-out/Tag-out and Secure Work Procedures training.
- Desirable: Restricted or Full Electrical Licence, Working at Heights certification.
Technical Skills
- Hydraulic & Pneumatic Systems: valves, cylinders, actuators, pressure controls.
- Mechanical Fitting & Alignment: bearings, shafts, gearboxes, chains, belts.
- Lathe operation and machining for component repair/fabrication.
- Electrical and burner system troubleshooting: sensors, thermocouples, gas valves.
- Preventative maintenance scheduling and shutdown planning.
- Light MIG/TIG welding and metal repair.
- Basic PLC understanding for automated systems.
