Downer is seeking a qualified Maintenance Electrical Tradesperson to support the Queensland Train Manufacturing Program. This key role is responsible for maintaining the safety, reliability and performance of electrical, automated and facility systems within a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Install, maintain and repair electrical and automated production equipment
* Perform statutory, preventative and reactive electrical maintenance
* Fault find and repair complex electrical, robotic and control systems
* Conduct HV switching, isolation and testing in line with Australian Standards
* Respond to facility and equipment breakdowns in a timely manner
* Complete inspections and accurately record works in the Maintenance Management System
* Promote and comply with Downer’s Zero Harm safety culture
* Support continuous improvement and 5S initiatives
About You
* Trade qualified Electrician: Certificate III in Electrotechnology
* Current unrestricted QLD Electrical Mechanic License
* HV switching competency and experience in industrial environments
* Proven experience with automated/robotic systems, PLCs, VSDs and control systems
* Strong knowledge of QLD electrical regulations and Australian Standards
* Ability to read schematics and complete digital documentation
* High‑risk licenses (EWP, Forklift, HV) highly desirable
* Further education in a related advanced electrical/control discipline is highly desirable
* Further qualification in Hazardous Areas is highly desirable
