About the role

We are seeking a strategic and culturally grounded leader to join the Faculty of Design and Society as Associate Dean (Indigenous Leadership and Engagement).

In this influential role, you will lead the development, implementation and monitoring of the Faculty's Indigenous education, research and employment priorities, aligned to the UTS Indigenous Education and Research Strategy and the Wingara Indigenous Employment Strategy. You will provide high-level strategic advice to the Dean and Faculty Executive, drive transformational initiatives and strengthen Indigenous engagement and success across the Faculty. You will join the Faculty at an exciting moment in its formation, helping to develop and deliver strategy and playing a central role in the activation and delivery of the University-wide Creative Industries Strategy.

Working closely with the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Indigenous Leadership and Engagement), Jumbunna Institute and key internal and external partners, you will enhance the Faculty's Indigenous profile, capability and partnerships. This is a unique opportunity to influence Faculty and University-wide priorities while contributing to meaningful outcomes for Indigenous students, staff and communities.

About You

You are an accomplished and respected Indigenous academic leader with a strong track record of strategic influence, partnership building with the creative sector and delivering impactful Indigenous initiatives within complex environments.

You bring deep cultural capability, strong sector knowledge and the ability to work collaboratively across academic and professional domains to drive sustained change.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

* High-level academic and/or professional qualifications in a relevant discipline area
* Demonstrated academic leadership experience in Indigenous education and/or research
* Proven ability to provide strategic advice at senior executive level
* Strong capability to develop and implement Faculty-wide strategies aligned to institutional priorities
* Demonstrated success building collaborative relationships across universities, creative industries, cultural institutions and Indigenous communities
* Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills
* A strong personal commitment to Indigenous cultural values, integrity and community engagement

Role Eligibility

Remuneration & Benefits

A competitive base salary will be offered to the chosen candidate. This role attracts 17% superannuation in addition to the base salary.

The position is full-time and will be made on a 3-year fixed-term basis.
