About the role: As a Network Operations Engineer, you’ll be a key member of our Network Operations team. You’ll be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and security of our diverse network infrastructure, playing a pivotal role in delivering best-in-class connectivity to our customers. You’ll work with advanced technologies, support complex network environments, and collaborate with teams across Pivotel to design, troubleshoot, and enhance systems that keep people connected – from remote outback installations to urban enterprise solutions. Key Duties: Planning, developing, deploying, testing, and optimising network and system services to ensure operational stability and reliability. Maintaining and administering Pivotel’s compute networks, including Windows and Linux server environments. Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving hardware, software, and network issues efficiently; replacing faulty network components as needed. Designing, configuring, staging, and testing network devices. Monitoring network performance, traffic, and outages; proactively addressing and resolving issues to maintain network integrity. Participating in a rotating roster for proactive monitoring of hardware, network, and security concerns. Collaborating with IT teams and business stakeholders to design and manage network security solutions that meet business needs. Providing Level 3 (L3) support and guidance to Level 1 and Level 2 support teams. Developing and maintaining automation scripts (Perl, Python) to streamline network administration and operations. Preparing and maintaining documentation for network inventories, fault diagnosis, resolutions, and maintenance procedures. Skills & Experience: We’re looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, technically complex environment and brings: Proven experience in network engineering. Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve complex network issues. Experience in network design, deployment, and optimisation. Proficiency in scripting (Perl, Python) and automation of network operations. Solid understanding of network security practices and solutions. Experience in supporting teams and mentoring junior staff on best practices. Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
