Overview
About The Job: The Regional Project Risk Manager (APAC) is accountable for leading and embedding effective Project Risk Management practices across projects and pursuits within the region. This role ensures consistent application of Worley's Project Risk Management standards, supports informed decision-making, and strengthens risk awareness throughout the project lifecycle — from pre-award through execution. You will act as a regional authority and partner to Project Managers, Sales Leads, and leadership teams, enabling disciplined identification, assessment, mitigation, and reporting of threats and opportunities across the project portfolio.
Responsibilities
* Project Risk Leadership
o Act as the regional focal point for Project Risk Management across pursuits and live projects. Ensure consistent application of the Risk Management Standard and related procedures on projects within the region. Support regionally significant and high-risk projects with hands-on risk facilitation and oversight.
o Provide expert advice to Project Managers on risk exposure, mitigation strategies, and escalation pathways.
o Mentor project teams and regional risk practitioners in risk-based thinking, workshop facilitation, and ongoing risk ownership.
o Promote proactive risk identification and escalation at appropriate project and portfolio governance levels.
* Pre Award & Project Initiation Support
o Support Sales and Capture teams by facilitating formal risk management when triggered by Risk Navigator outputs.
o Developing and reviewing Contract Risk Registers.
o Supporting Go / No-Go, Green Team, and Contract Approval risk inputs.
o Ensure risk handover is effectively completed at award from Sales to Project teams.
o Lead and/or assure pre-award risk assessments, including:
+ Development of project risk context statements
+ Facilitation or oversight of structured risk workshops
o Review of pre-award Contract Risk Registers.
o Ensure that material risks are clearly articulated and available to support: gate reviews (e.g., end game / Green Team) and contract approval and mobilisation decisions.
o Support effective handover of risk data from pursuit to delivery at project initiation and stage gates.
* Governance, Reporting & Decision Support
o Establish and oversee governance for: Contract Risk Registers (internal/project commercial risk) and Project Execution Risk Registers (delivery and customer-facing risk, where applicable).
o Ensure risks are reviewed at mandated frequencies (minimum monthly at project level, quarterly at portfolio level).
o Risk treatments are defined, owned, and tracked.
o Provide risk insights and trend analysis to Regional Project Services leadership to support portfolio-level decision making.
o Ensure compliance with Worley risk governance requirements and auditable risk documentation.
Qualifications
* Formal training or accreditation aligned to ISO 31000 Risk Management principles (essential).
* Degree in Engineering, Project Management, Risk Management, Finance, or related discipline (preferred).
* Experience facilitating risk workshops and leading multi-disciplinary discussions.
* Demonstrated experience in Project Risk Management within large-scale projects (EPC/EPCM or complex service delivery environments), with a strong understanding of project lifecycle risk (pre-award to execution).
* Training and demonstrated experience in facilitated risk workshops and structured qualitative risk assessment methodologies.
