About the Role
Australian Wildlife Conservancy is seeking a skilled professional to coordinate the establishment of a team of Indigenous Rangers on the Ngalurrtju Aboriginal Land Trust in Northern Territory. The successful candidate will work closely with the Operations Manager to develop and implement a works program for the Women's Ranger team, providing day-to-day planning and coordination.
This exciting opportunity requires a strong passion for conservation and a commitment to mentoring and training Ngalurrtju Traditional Owners, specifically Women, to be meaningfully engaged in protecting their country and culture.
Key Responsibilities
* Coordinate the establishment of a team of Indigenous Rangers
* Develop and implement a works program for the Women's Ranger team
* Provide day-to-day planning and coordination
The successful candidate will have a good understanding of Australian ecology and conservation issues, particularly in relation to the arid and semi-arid regions. They will also possess strong cultural awareness and knowledge of First Nations culture, as well as excellent communication and leadership skills.
Requirements
* Cultural awareness and knowledge of First Nations culture
* Passion for conservation and ability to communicate effectively
* Leadership and organizational skills
* Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously
* Familiarity with land management programs and conservation practices
* Valid manual driver's license and experience operating 4WD vehicles in difficult conditions
* First aid certification (remote certification an advantage)
