Job Title: Nutritional Specialist - Early Childhood Settings
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Nutritional Specialist to join our team in Toowoomba, QLD. As a part-time specialist, you will be responsible for preparing healthy, nutritious meals and snacks for children in our care, while adhering to all food safety and dietary requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan, prepare, and serve wholesome, age-appropriate meals and snacks that meet the nutritional needs of children
* Ensure all food preparation, storage, and serving practices comply with food safety regulations and centre policies
* Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment
* Collaborate with the Centre Director and educators to accommodate special dietary requirements
* Participate in professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date with best practices in early childhood nutrition
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* A minimum 2 years' experience as a cook in an early childhood or similar catering setting
* Knowledge of food safety, nutrition, and healthy eating for young children
* Ability to work collaboratively with a team and communicate effectively with children and families
* Excellent organisational and time management skills
* Current Food Safety Supervisor certification or willingness to obtain
* Working with Children Check (or equivalent)
