The Opportunity

Kickstart your engineering career and play a key role in supporting Macquarie Technology's Customer Mission Critical Services. You will play an integral part in maintaining facility infrastructure and responding to incidents related to the Data Centre facilities, learning from experienced engineers and gaining certifications along the way.

This role requires shift hours to ensure coverage of our facilities.

The role covers three key areas:

1. Continuous proactive facility maintenance and contractor coordination
2. Supporting the Facility Manager
3. Response and resolution of facility incidents related to Macquarie Data Centre (MDC) Facilities

You'll have the opportunity to work with emerging technologies and products, and to learn and grow within a supportive, diverse team.

What you will do

* Perform and coordinate preventative maintenance to support reliable and scalable Data Centre infrastructure.
* Manage and project Data Centre capacity requirements.
* Review facilities and services to meet business needs, including rack allocation, power supply, and cooling systems.
* Support and manage physical access and logical security, maintaining security policies and procedures.
* Ensure security of restricted information and documentation.
* Understand IT network topologies, data collection designs, and software tools to ensure uptime and billing accuracy.
* Participate in change management processes for MDC operations.
* Respond to facility and security incidents reported within the campus to resolve them within SLA thresholds.
* Understand emergency procedures outside standard SOPs to reduce or recover from disasters.
* Attend major switching operations, including annual mains fail simulations and major MEP maintenance.
* Support sales and technical consultants during pre-sale processes to determine customer requirements.

Your ideal skills and experience

* 2 years of electrical/mechanical engineering experience with a relevant electrical engineering degree.
* Good knowledge of building services, including structural, DRUPS/UPS, HV/LV switchgear, electrical design, generators, security systems, HVAC, fire, security, EMS, ECMS, and BMS.
