As an Apprentice you will undertake a 4 year Training Contract (Certificate 3 in Engineering Mechanical Trade) where you will learn on-the-job to become a Fitter/Machinist.
Working as a Fitter/Machinist you are responsible for fabricating, assembling, maintaining and repairing precision equipment/machines.
You may also undertake the following:
- Perform lathe, Milling, Grinding and tool cutter operations
- Use of VTL Borers, Horizontal Borers, CNC Manual Lathes, Miling Machine
- Perform precision mechanical measurements
- Perform precision levelling and alignment of machines and engineering components.
- Perform fault diagnosis, installation and removal.
To be considered for a apprenticeship the following is required:
- Satisfactorily pass a pre-employment medical
- Hold a current drivers licence
- Willingness to learn and develop new skills
- Be punctual and have a good work ethic
- Be a hard worker
- Be able to use initiative and work well in a team
- Occasional out of hours breakdown work as well as ongoing overtime
- Hold a current White card
