The Berwick Bar & Kitchen is a modern Australian bar and restaurant located in East Victoria Park, part of the new Baillie Hill hospitality precinct. Designed as a premium neighbourhood venue, we deliver quality food, curated drinks, and genuine hospitality in a vibrant, high-energy environment.
We are seeking an experienced and hands‐on Venue Manager to lead operations as we continue to build momentum following our recent opening. This is a rare opportunity to take ownership of a newly established venue and play a key role in shaping its ongoing growth and success.
The Role - Venue Manager
As Venue Manager, you will oversee all day‐to‐day venue operations, team leadership, financial performance, and guest experience. You will play a key role in delivering exceptional service standards while driving profitability and team culture.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead daily restaurant and bar operations to deliver exceptional customer service
* Recruit, train, and develop a high‐performing front‐of‐house team
* Manage staff rosters, wage budgets, and labour cost control
* Oversee stock management, ordering, and supplier relationships
* Drive venue performance including revenue, KPIs, and P&L outcomes
* Ensure compliance with liquor licensing, RSA, WHS, and company policies
* Collaborate with senior management on events, activations, and marketing initiatives
* Foster a positive, accountable, and professional team culture
About You
You are an experienced hospitality leader who thrives in fast‐paced bar and restaurant environments. You are confident on the floor, commercially minded, and passionate about delivering outstanding guest experiences.
Skills & Experience
* Proven experience as a Venue Manager, Restaurant Manager, or strong Assistant Venue Manager
* Background in busy bar, restaurant, or hospitality venue environments
* Strong leadership, team development, and communication skills
* Experience managing rosters, budgets, stock control, and POS systems
* Systems experience (Deputy, Now Book It, Bepoz highly regarded)
* Strong financial acumen including wage cost control and P&L management
* Sound knowledge of liquor licensing, RSA compliance, and WHS regulations
* Availability to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays
