**About the Program**
Life Without Barriers is committed to supporting young people to successfully transition from care and live independently while achieving their full potential. The focus of the Next Step Plus program is on preparing young people in care from the age of 15 to develop the skills and knowledge they need to live as an interdependent adult; and to ensure those who have left care are able to receive additional support and services should they require them.
The program's vision is that all young people are resilient and supported and have the skills, capacity, and capability to be the person they want to be.
**About the Role**
The aim of the** Program Assistant** is to actively support the management of Next Step Plus in the referral process for young people, program related administrational tasks, management of the client data base and managing client related expenditure. There will be opportunity to be involved in the design and implementation of innovative solutions to complex problems in the Transition from Care space. The incumbent will demonstrate leadership and peer support to assist the team to help young people achieve their dreams and goals as they exit out of the care system.
This position is being offered on a **permanent full-time** basis at any of the following offices - **Ipswich, Toowoomba or Milton.**
**Key Responsibilities**
- Provide administrative support in relation to the management of client data base, for Next Step Plus.
- Coordinate resources for the region (vehicles, ICT equipment, room bookings, petty cash etc.), and maintain recording systems.
- Monitor the changing needs of Young People and provide information and contribute to the adaptation of LWB services as required to meet these needs.
- Build a positive team environment and provide role modelling and on the job support.
- Improve efficiencies through best practice administration, communications, and records management.
- Create, update, and maintain registers with relevant client expenditures in line with new Extended Post Care Support funding.
- Comply with all Life Without Barriers policy, code of conduct, procedures and practices, external funding body requirements and legislation.
**Skills & Experience**
- Demonstrated experience in managing multiple work streams within a dynamic administrative environment.
- Highly developed organisational skills, and an ability to prioritise workload.
- Demonstrated ability to develop positive relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to maintain clients' privacy and confidentiality.
- Established problem solving and conflict management skills.
- Strong written and computer skills for the creation of plans, programs, reports, correspondence, and other documents.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain client related financial records or other relevant book keeping tasks i.e, generating invoices, reconciling expenses, keeping registers.
- Tertiary qualifications in the health or welfare field and/or relevant experience preferred.
- Current Full Unrestricted Australian Driver's Licence.
