Network Engineer (Mid–Senior)

We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer to join a Government Department in Canberra, working in a hybrid environment across both project-based initiatives and business-as-usual (BAU) operations. This role is ideal for a mid to senior engineer with strong Cisco expertise who enjoys hands-on technical work within a collaborative team.
This role is available on a contract or permanent basis and requires an active NV1 Security Clearance.
Key Responsibilities
Provide BAU network support including monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident resolution
Perform network upgrades, updates, patching, and firmware management
Participate in key projects, including:
Migration to a new Cisco ISE (ICE) environment
Small-scale cloud migration initiatives
Work collaboratively within a team to maintain secure and reliable network services
Technical Skills & Experience
Strong Routing and Switching expertise
Solid WiFi / Wireless networking experience
Proven Cisco experience, including:
Cisco ISE (ICE)
Cisco Wireless solutions
Experience with Fortinet firewalls
Zscaler experience is desirable but not essential
Mid - Senior level network engineering experience
Soft Skills

Security Requirements
NV1 Security Clearance required (or ability to obtain)
