About Kimberley Renal Services

Kimberley Renal Services (KRS) includes 4 Renal Health Centres based in Fitzroy Crossing, Broome, Kununurra, and Derby, as well as a mobile prevention unit.

The incidence of Kidney Disease in the Kimberley is one of the highest in Australia. Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) and End-Stage Kidney Disease (ESKD) rates within the Aboriginal population of the Kimberley greatly exceed the national average. Dialysis prevalence in this region has more than tripled over the last decade and continues to increase at a faster rate than in the rest of Western Australia (WA).

About the Opportunity

Kimberley Renal Services now has an opportunity for a Patient Care Assistant to join their KRS team in Broome, WA, on a part-time basis. Reporting to the Integrated Services Manager, you will assist patients with activities of daily living while attending the Renal Health Centre.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

1. Assist patients with activities of daily living while attending the Renal Health Centre.

2. Assist clinical staff when required to deliver patient care and treatment.

3. Transport clients and goods safely.

4. Manage cleaning and maintenance schedules as required by the Centre.

5. Participate in and contribute to service planning.

About You

To be successful, you will need to be committed to the philosophy and practice of Aboriginal Community Control, with a good understanding of Aboriginal culture and a willingness to create a culturally safe environment.

You will also work in accordance with OSH and Infection Control policies to maintain a safe working environment.

Please note: To be eligible for this role, you must hold a current 'C' Class Driver's Licence. Employment is also subject to a National Police Clearance.
