Production Horticulture Supervisor (Harvest) – Walkamin

We are looking for a Production Horticulture Supervisor (Harvest) to join our Costa Banana team in Walkamin.
About the Role
This role
is responsible for ensuring that the coordination of Banana Production Operations (Harvest) are carried out, in accordance with safety, quality and operational
requirements on the particular farm/s that you are responsible for.
Key responsibilities
will include:
•
Supervise day to day farming
activities, including but not limited to harvesting of fruit, bell injection,
bagging, de-suckering, de-leafing and stringing.
•
Be proactive with safety –
identify hazards, identify unsafe work practices and provide solutions, work
closely with the safety and QA staff to ensure all incidents and hazards are
recorded and ultimately closed out.
•
Actively participate in
daily toolbox meetings and run them when required.
•
Ensure staff are aware and
trained in safety obligations and internal safety requirements i.e. SWP's, PPE
etc.
About
you:
To be
successful in this role you will be:
• Minimum
of 5 years' experience in Banana farming
• Ability
to supervise (or lead) and engage teams
• Excellent
problem-solving skills
• Work
well autonomously and in a team environment
• Self-motivated
and self-starter
• Ability
to multitask and fulfil multiple roles
• A
strong commitment to safety and quality
• Good
general literacy, numeracy and basic computer skills

skills both verbal and written
