Position Summary:
We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Civil Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the planning, design, and oversight of construction and infrastructure projects to ensure structural integrity, compliance, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Determine construction methods, materials, and quality standards.
2. Draft and interpret specifications, technical drawings, and construction procedures.
3. Organise and manage site labour, delivery of materials, equipment, and construction programs.
4. Conduct geotechnical investigations including soil and rock sampling and testing.
5. Analyse test results to determine safe loading capacities of soil and rock.
6. Estimate project costs by reviewing architectural and engineering drawings.
7. Prepare detailed cost plans and budgets and monitor ongoing changes for variations.
8. Analyse structural systems for both static and dynamic loads.
9. Design structures to avoid collapse, deflection, vibration, or instability.
10. Assess and forecast future transport patterns and infrastructure needs.
11. Design and plan transportation systems, including highways, railways, transit networks, and logistics terminals.
Skills and Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
2. Relevant experience in civil construction and infrastructure.
3. Strong understanding of engineering design principles and construction practices.
4. Experience with software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and project management tools.
5. Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
6. Knowledge of relevant Australian building codes and standards.
