Job title: Survey Technician
Northern Star Resources have a fantastic and rewarding opportunity for a Survey Technician to join the Mining – Open pit mining team at the KCGM operations, residentially based in Kalgoorlie - the Heart of the Goldfields.
This is a residential, Kalgoorlie based position, working an 8/6 11-hour day roster, with the unique benefit of being less than a 10-minute drive to any front door in Kalgoorlie.
The Survey Technician reports to the Senior Mine Surveyor and their main purpose is to support the Survey team in all day-to-day Survey Functions in the technical team.
These tasks can include:
Support the Mine Surveyor to complete:
* Drone surveys of the open pit areas, tailings and infrastructure.
* GPS setting out and pickups.
* All the associated software processing with the above-mentioned tasks.
* Maintain the Survey Vehicles - daily prestart & washing of vehicles.
* Maintain the Survey Stores area.
* Maintain and Clean Survey Equipment.
Requirements:
Essential
* Methodical, analytical mind set, and the ability to identify errors, hardworking and works well in a team environment.
* Quick to pick up new software and enjoys a balance between working in the office and the physical side of day-to-day work.
* Follows procedures and processes to ensure tasks are done safely and efficiently.
* Class C Driver's license.
* Computer Literacy - Office
Desired
* Experience using cad software is desirable or exposure to mining, working in high-risk environment around heavy machinery etc.
* Qualification in surveying or willingness to study torwads.
