Australian, Family owned and operated International Freight Forwarder & Customs Brokerage, operating our own fleet of modern Prime Movers and Rigid Trucks are looking for the next generation to join and grow with our ever-expanding Sydney based operation.
We are specialists in Major International Sports, Events and Entertainment Logistics as well as having our own International Freight Forwarding Division with a wide variety of Import and Export clients.
Full-time position within transport department, assisting to schedule company fleet (semi trailers, airport trucks) within a team operational environment, assisted on daily tasks by experienced staff.
Experience within transport is not essential, however a great attitude and ability to learn is a prerequisite. Applicant must be self-motivated, have excellent customer service skills and be well organised.
Responsibilities include:
* Scheduling drivers and company trucks for efficient collection and delivery of cargo for regular customers
* Booking timeslots and managing stevedore, empty container park movements and air terminals
* Learning administrative functions related to transport (eg. driver runsheet approval and coding)
* Communication with customers via e-mail and phone
* Management of the container yard / fumigation pad
* Exposure to customs- and quarantine-bonded warehouse processes
* Physical involvement in "special event" projects and related movements
Experience with Industry based Computer systems, EDI - CargoWise, 1-Stop and Terminal Slot Booking systems is preferred but not essential.
