About the Position:
We are a fast-paced and detail-driven label printing company seeking an experienced Pre-Press Graphic Operator to join our production team.
This role plays a critical part in ensuring all artwork files are accurately prepared and technically compliant prior to print production across a range of self-adhesive label solutions for commercial clients.
The successful candidate will work closely with our design, production, and dispatch teams to ensure timely job turnaround and print-ready file delivery in line with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare/alter customer-supplied artwork files for flexographic and digital print production
* Check and adjust files for colour accuracy, bleeds, dielines, and resolution
* Conduct pre-flight checks to ensure technical print compliance
* Apply trapping, overprints, and layout adjustments where required
* Manage imposition and nesting of label jobs
* Liaise with internal teams regarding artwork corrections or production feasibility
* Maintain accurate job records and version control
* Preparation and exposure of high-build silk screens
Skills & Experience:
* Proven experience in pre-press operations within the printing or packaging industry
* Very Strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
* Understanding of colour management and various substrate label print production processes
* Experience preparing files for flexographic or digital printing including variable data
* High attention to detail and accuracy
* Ability to manage multiple jobs in a deadline-driven environment
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Experience with Tharstern MIS system and the integration of Esko applications.
* Knowledge of Equios Workflow platform
* Experience with ESKO label printing workflows (highly regarded)
Qualifications (Desirable):
* Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in Graphic Design, Print Production or related field
* Previous pre-press experience in label printing or packaging production
* Proven proficiency in written and spoken English
Employee Benefits:
* Salary packages range from $77,000 to $80,000 + Superannuation
* Employer superannuation 12%.
