About the role
Finding better ways to provide the materials the world needs..
We are looking for an experienced CSP practitioner to deliver the CSP elements of our decarbonisation projects in line with Rio Tinto’s CSP Standard, driving genuine value for host communities and our business on a 12 Month Contract.

Between now and 2030, the company must switch to renewables at scale and pace, electrify everything we can, working across our value chain, accelerating the development of new technology, and addressing emissions related to process heat at our alumina refineries and minerals processing operations.
The CSP Principal Advisor will, as a key member of the Rio Tinto Energy and Climate (RTEC) team, coordinate delivery of CSP objectives for the full range of projects in this portfolio. Initially, the focus will be on projects in Australia though some involvement in global projects is likely, with this split potentially evolving over time.
We are an open, connected global team that includes some of the industry’s best and brightest minds. We offer competitive, performance-focused remuneration and a wide range of benefits to reward your contribution. This role can be based in either our Brisbane or Perth Hub.

12. Build CSP awareness and capability internally and externally as part of project delivery
13. Engage closely with the CSP Area of Expertise (AoE) to ensure risks and opportunities are appropriately escalated
14. Liaise with other Rio Tinto assets and projects to ensure integration / coordination

About Rio Tinto
Rio Tinto is a leading global mining and materials company. We operate in 35 countries where we produce iron ore, copper, aluminium, critical minerals, and other materials needed for the global energy transition and for people, communities, and nations to thrive.
We have been mining for 150 years and operate with knowledge built up across generations and continents. Our purpose is finding better ways to provide the materials the world needs – striving for innovation and continuous improvement to produce materials with low emissions and to the right environmental, social and governance standards. But we can’t do it on our own, so we’re focused on creating partnerships to solve problems, create win-win and meet opportunities.
Where you’ll be working
Rio Tinto is a global leader in aluminium, one of the world’s most widely used metals.
Active in the sector for more than 110 years, today we operate large-scale, high-quality bauxite mines and alumina refineries, and have the world’s most modern and competitive aluminium smelter portfolio.
Our Pacific Operations sites are located along the east coast of Australia, at the tip of the Northern Territory and in New Zealand’s south. With more than 6,000 employees, we operate a full value chain approach—mining, refining and smelting. Our portfolio includes four bauxite mines, two refineries, four smelters and one power station, and is supported by technical experts located in our Brisbane hub, including a fully operational Operations Centre for our bauxite mines.
