We have experienced significate growth in the last 12 months and are looking for an Estimator to hit the ground running for our commercial concreting business.
We cover commercial / civil infrastructure projects in the Brisbane Northside / Sunshine Coast region.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Degree or diploma in Construction or related field preferred
* Minimum 3+ years working as an Estimator or similar role is preferred
* Experience in estimating concrete structures is essential
* Strong analytical skills with an attention to detail
* Strong communication and time management skills
* Proficient in MS Office & Excel
* Experience using estimating software is critical
* Experience and ability in reading all types of construction drawings
Tasks & Responsibilities:
* Read and interpret construction drawings and engineering plans;
* Complete quantity take-offs for items such as excavation, formwork, steel reinforcement, concrete supply & pumping;
* Preparation of BOQs'
* Ability to create rate build ups for respective line items within the BOQ;
* Create tender submissions and project specific letter-of-offer;
* Liaise with clients, subcontractors, suppliers & project team;
* Review head contractors' scope of works and submit allowance of estimates;
* Update estimating database;
* Obtaining supply pricing and negotiating market rates;
* Preparing costing options for tender interviews and negotiating with head contractors.
