About The Role
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Purchasing Officer to join our team. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the timely and cost-effective supply of materials and services that support production, aftermarket operations, and inventory management.
You will manage end-to-end purchasing activities, work closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders, and contribute to sourcing and continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
* Raise and manage purchase orders in the ERP system in line with demand and procurement policies
* Monitor orders through to delivery, managing delays, backorders, and changes as required
* Liaise with suppliers to confirm pricing, availability, and lead times
* Support supplier negotiations within delegated authority
* Assist with onboarding new suppliers, including documentation and system setup
* Identify and evaluate new suppliers to support cost, quality, and supply continuity
* Support sourcing activities (RFQs, supplier comparisons, and recommendations)
* Work closely with production, planning, and engineering teams to ensure material availability
* Coordinate logistics and freight, resolving delivery issues where needed
* Maintain accurate purchasing data and support reporting on orders, supplier performance, and spend
* Contribute to continuous improvement and category management initiatives
About You
* Certificate or Diploma in Procurement, Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
* Experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain within a manufacturing or engineering environment
* Strong understanding of purchase order management, supplier coordination, and lead times
* Experience using ERP systems and maintaining accurate data
* Effective communication and negotiation skills
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
* High attention to detail and a proactive, solutions-focused approach
* Ability to collaborate across teams and build strong working relationships
