Position Summary
The Journeyman Plumber will be responsible for the installation and general maintenance of assigned plumbing systems at Stratton Mountain Resort. During the off‐season, this position will work on various projects and preventive maintenance. This is a full‐time, year‐round, benefit‐eligible position paid at $30–$35 per hour, based on experience.
Essential Duties
* Install, assemble, maintain, and repair pipes and plumbing fixtures.
* Ability to braze and solder pipes and tubes.
* Locate and repair water‐line leaks and remove clogs.
* Diagnose plumbing problems and work to resolve any issues.
* Determine and order materials for each project.
* Perform pressure tests on air and water systems.
* Other general maintenance duties as needed and assigned.
* Respond to and close work orders in a timely fashion.
* Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Ability Requirements
* High School Diploma, or equivalent.
* Proof of completed apprenticeship.
* 3+ years of related experience.
* Must have a valid VT Journeyman Plumbing License.
* A general understanding and working knowledge of mechanical systems, i.e., heating, electrical, and plumbing.
* Ability to read technical designs and blueprints.
* Proficiency using plumbing tools, materials, and equipment.
* Expert knowledge in piping and ventilation systems.
* Understanding of state regulations and local building codes.
* Experience with oil and gas boilers.
* Must be a strong independent and collaborative worker.
Travel Requirements
Vehicle provided for travel on the mountain. A valid driver's license is required and a successful Motor Vehicle background check is necessary.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
This position may be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodations.
