About the role
This is a pivotal opportunity to shape the safety culture at one of Australia’s most iconic infrastructure assets. As the Safety & Compliance Training Advisor, you’ll play a key role in ensuring Sydney Airport meets its Work Health and Safety and Aviation Safety obligations through the design, delivery, and coordination of high-impact training programs.
Sitting within the Safety and Wellbeing team in Group Operations, you’ll work across the organisation and with external partners to ensure our people have the knowledge, tools, and confidence to operate safely and compliantly. This is a role where your expertise in adult learning and training systems will directly influence operational excellence and regulatory assurance.
Responsibilities
- Partner with business units to identify training needs and maintain regulatory compliance.
- Develop and deliver the annual safety and compliance training plan.
- Design and facilitate engaging training programs tailored to organisational and individual needs.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external providers to create training content and resources.
- Manage the learning management system, ensuring accurate tracking of competencies, licences, and recertifications.
- Monitor training compliance and contribute to reporting and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment, with tertiary qualifications in adult learning, instructional design or related studies.
- Solid understanding of adult learning principles and experience in competency-based training design and delivery.
- Proven ability to manage training systems and compliance reporting.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills across diverse stakeholder groups.
- A proactive, collaborative mindset with strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with aviation safety, emergency management, or the ability to quickly gain this knowledge.
