Sirrom is seeking a driven and self motivated qualified Plumber to join our Facilities Management team, working in a plumbing maintenance role within a remote accommodation environment.
This position is offered on a FIFO (ex Brisbane) or DIDO basis, depending on your location and suitability.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys autonomy, takes pride in preventative maintenance, and has experience working in service and maintenance environments.
About the Role
You will be responsible for the day to day plumbing maintenance across a remote workforce village, ensuring all water, drainage and plumbing systems are operating safely, efficiently and in line with compliance requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
* Carrying out reactive and planned plumbing maintenance
* Diagnosing and repairing faults across accommodation, ablutions, kitchens and communal facilities
* Developing and implementing preventative maintenance plans
* Maintaining potable water and plumbing systems to required standards
* Liaising with site management and other trades as required
* Ensuring all work is completed safely and to compliance standards
Roster & Remuneration
* FIFO (ex Brisbane) / DIDO role
* 8 days on / 6 days off roster
* Salary $125,000 per annum plus 12% superannuation
* Accommodation and meals provided while on site
Mandatory Requirements
* Certificate III in Plumbing (or equivalent recognised trade qualification)
* Current, unrestricted QBCC Occupational Plumber Licence (Queensland)
* Current Australian manual Drivers Licence
* Australian Citizenship or full Australian working rights
* Solid and relevant service and maintenance experience (minimum 2 years)
* Ability to develop and manage preventative maintenance programs
* Ability to work on a FIFO (ex Brisbane) or DIDO basis on an 8/6 roster
* Ability to undergo a pre employment medical including drug and alcohol testing
* Willingness to undergo a National Police Check (issued within the last 1 month)
Highly Regarded
* General Construction White Card
* Previous experience in FIFO / DIDO, remote camps or village environments
* Water treatment or potable water system experience
* QBCC endorsements such as Backflow Prevention, TMV or Drainer
* Strong fault finding and problem solving skills
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
