About the role: 3 year fixed term part time .4 FTE
The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) provides strategic clinical leadership and expert advice to Safer Care Victoria (SCV), the Minister for Health, the Department of Health, and the broader health service and hospital sector.
As a key member of SCV's Senior Leadership Team, the CMO works collaboratively with colleagues to deliver the organisation's strategy. This role is not about individual team outputs; it is about achieving a shared mission - improving health outcomes for the people of Victoria.
The CMO is the principal advisor on all matters relating to the medical workforce and provides professional leadership and direction on a wide range of issues across Victoria.

It requires strong engagement with senior stakeholders across government and the health sector, acting as a vital link between SCV, the Department, and the medical community.
The CMO also represents Victoria at a national level and advocates for the medical workforce within the Department of Health.
