About the Department
The Department of Corrections performs an essential role in our community and the criminal justice system. Our work is complex, and we often work under difficult circumstances, but the job is rewarding.
Community Corrections services the entire Northern Territory with regional offices in Darwin, Alice Springs, Katherine and Tennant Creek with smaller offices located in Nhulunbuy, Groote Eylandt and Wadeye. We reach almost 80 communities.
These two Regional Manager of Community Corrections offices are exciting and rewarding opportunities for you to make a difference in the community.
Responsibilities
In your role you will lead by example - developing, implementing and managing all aspects of the strategic and day-to-day operations of the Community Corrections office.
Qualifications
* Proven ability to lead a multi‐disciplinary team to achieve positive outcomes, encouraging the team to meet challenges of demanding work roles.
* Experience in the management of complex services relevant to community corrections and experience of case management in a human services field.
* Strong interpersonal skills and effective working relationships with communities and key stakeholders.
* Highly developed ability to think strategically and develop and implement operational plans and effective change management strategies, including the identification and management of risks.
* High level networking skills, ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences, using a variety of strategies to establish relationships with stakeholders and to represent/promote the Department.
* A demonstrated understanding of and sensitivity to Aboriginal cultural issues with the ability to interact effectively with people of different cultures.
