Part-Time School Nurse (30 hours/week)

Kingswood Primary School is currently seeking a qualified and compassionate Part time School Nurse to support the health and wellbeing of our students and staff. This position is 30 hours per week across 5 days and forms an integral part of our administration and wellbeing team.
About the Role
The School Nurse is a key figure in our student support framework, responsible for managing the school’s first aid response and supporting health-related initiatives across the school community.

Key Responsibilities
Provide first aid and manage medical incidents for students, staff, and visitors.
Maintain and implement student health care and emergency action plans (e.g. asthma, anaphylaxis).
Administer and oversee the distribution and safe storage of student medications.
Be the primary contact for medical matters and provide advice to staff on student health needs.
Support staff preparing for camps and excursions, including medical briefings and risk management.
Coordinate vaccination programs and liaise with health professionals and parents.
Liaise with parents and health professionals regarding medical and healthcare needs of students
Deliver anaphylaxis, asthma, and other health-related training to staff and parents.
Ensure first aid kits are stocked and compliant across all school areas.
Maintain records of all medical incidents and medication logs.
Assist in the development of health policies and wellbeing programs in collaboration with staff.
Provide leadership and staff training in areas related to student health and first aid.
Qualifications & Requirements
Tertiary qualification in Nursing (Diploma or Degree).
Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
Experience in paediatric, community health, or school nursing.
Understanding of the Victorian public health and education systems.
Experience supporting children and families in a school or clinical setting.
