The opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and values-driven General Manager / Facilities Manager – Residential Aged Care to lead our 81-bed accredited service in St Helena.

Reporting directly to the Head of Operations, you will have overall accountability for operational excellence, clinical governance, people leadership and regulatory compliance, while creating a positive, supportive and high-performing culture for residents, families and staff.

This is a role for a leader who enjoys visible leadership, values relationships, and wants the scope to genuinely shape how care is delivered, not just maintain the status quo.

About you

You are a confident, capable and compassionate leader who brings both clinical credibility and operational strength.

You will ideally have:

* Proven senior leadership experience within residential aged care or a similar regulated environment
* Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
* Demonstrated success in leading services through accreditation and quality reviews
* Strong understanding of AN-ACC or comparable funding models
* Experience managing budgets, workforce planning and operational performance
* Excellent communication skills with residents, families and diverse teams
* A collaborative leadership style with strong people and change management skills
* Sound decision-making, problem-solving and conflict resolution capability
* Strong IT literacy and experience with clinical and care management systems
* Compliance with COVID-19 and relevant vaccination requirements

Key Responsibilities:

* Leading the overall performance and day-to-day operations of the residential aged care service
* Providing strong clinical and operational leadership to multidisciplinary teams
* Ensuring high-quality, safe and resident-centred care and services
* Oversight of clinical governance, accreditation, compliance and continuous improvement
* Building trusted relationships with residents, families, staff and external stakeholders
* Financial and operational management, including budgets and service sustainability
* Leading, mentoring and developing managers and emerging leaders
* Driving a positive workplace culture aligned with Abound Communities' values
