**The role**

Are you an experienced researcher with a passion for health equity? Join our diverse and high-performing team in the Justice Health Group, Curtin University, and contribute to world-class, impactful research that aims to improve the health and well-being of justice-involved and socially excluded populations in Australia and internationally. We are seeking a highly motivated and committed Postdoctoral Researcher to support our mission of generating evidence to reduce health inequalities and drive real-world impact.

**Key Responsibilities**:
As a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Justice Health Group, you will be expected to play a key role in the ongoing development of the Group. This includes:

- **Leadership**: Actively engage in internal and external meetings, collaborate with stakeholders, and participate in relevant events to contribute to the leadership of the Group.
- **Research Excellence**: Prepare and submit high-quality manuscripts for leading specialist and generalist journals, as both a lead author and a co-author.
- **Data Analysis**: Contribute to management and analysis of large, linked administrative datasets relevant to the health and wellbeing of justice-involved populations.
- **Project Management**: Lead and assist in the management of research projects to drive impactful outcomes.
- **Mentorship**: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff and postgraduate students to foster their professional development.
- **Knowledge Dissemination**: Present research findings at national and international conferences and deliver targeted seminars on behalf of the Group.
- **Professional Growth**: Actively engage in ongoing professional development activities to enhance your skills and expertise.

**The Justice Health Group**

The Justice Health Group at Curtin University is a dynamic and multidisciplinary team committed to conducting world-class, translational research aimed at improving the health and well-being of justice-involved and socially excluded populations. With members based in Perth, Melbourne, Brisbane, Oxford (UK) and Toronto (Canada), we leverage our methodological diversity and data linkage expertise to drive positive change.

Our research is characterised by methodological rigour, ethical research practice, and a strong commitment to reducing health inequities. We collaborate closely with government and non-government stakeholders, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, and individuals with lived experience of the criminal justice system. Our work is informed by a Consumer and Community Advisory Group (CCAG) that includes key stakeholders and individuals with lived experience of incarceration.

We have a strong national and global presence, collaborating with leading research groups and international agencies including the World Health Organization (WHO) Health in Prisons Programme, United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), and International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Health in Detention Programme.

- Essential_
- High-level quantitative data analysis skills, ideally including experience managing and analysing linked administrative data (experience using the Stata package would be an advantage)
- A strong track record of publication in peer-reviewed journals, relative to opportunity
- A commitment to health equity, demonstrated through research, engagement, and/or service activities
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
