Australia's South West (ASW)
is looking for a dynamic and outgoing individual to join our team as our
Marketing and Communications Officer.

In this role, you will be responsible for promoting our awe-inspiring destination to potential visitors. This will include supporting the creation, sourcing, scheduling and posting on our owned social media channels with an emphasis on end user conversation and engagement. You will also have the ability to vary your copywriting and communication styles between consumer and stakeholder voices. In addition, the role requires working with businesses and attractions to promote their products and services through our campaign and marketing activity.

This exciting and varied role is available on a full time basis. The role is based in Bunbury with opportunity to travel across the South West and further afield representing the organisation.

ASW is the peak tourism body for the South West region of Western Australia, including the Margaret River region, the Great Southern, Bunbury Geographe, and the Southern Forests and Valleys. Funded by and partnering with Tourism Western Australia and its member base of operators, the primary role of ASW is to stimulate visitation to the South West region by managing a comprehensive schedule of marketing activities to promote the area as a desirable tourism destination, to support members and develop the destination.

The Role

Your duties will include but are not limited to:-

* Assist in the effective delivery of campaigns identified in ASW's marketing plan with specific objectives across different channels and segments.
* Source, schedule and post on owned social media platforms, manage engagement, engage on and offline with social media influencers and ambassadors.
* Write destination copy and assist with the delivery of marketing collateral.
* Create graphic design enhanced documents for use in EDM and industry communications.
* Provide support and engagement with our tourism businesses and stakeholders.
* Assist in managing our corporate communications platforms to connect and educate members, industry and other stakeholders.

Key Selection Criteria

1. 1+ years in a professional marketing or tourism environment and tertiary qualification in marketing or associated discipline.
2. Experience in managing an organisation's social media channels.
3. Experience in, and passion, for excellent and authentic copywriting.
4. Experience in customer service and engagement.
5. Demonstrated experience in website CMS (Wordpress ideal), graphic design programs (eg Canva), social media scheduling and database management and comms software (eg Mailchimp).
6. Intermediate knowledge of MS Office 365: Outlook, Word, Excel and Teams.
7. Previous experience of working in the tourism or hospitality sector.
8. Ability to travel, both on a short-term local basis and potentially a longer-term interstate and internationally for up to a week.
9. Ability to produce a current 'C' class driver license, police clearance, valid passport and appropriate visa requirements (if applicable).
